DSB, Movia and Copenhagen Metro have launched the mobile site 1415.dk. This gives passengers access to a world of new opportunities for buying tickets using the iPhone, Android and other smartphones. Since Copenhagen’s transport companies introduced SMS payment in 2009 using Unwire Mobile Ticket, users have flocked to the service.

Summer multitrip tickets for the mobile phone
Over the summer, DSB S-tog, Movia, the Metro and DSB First successfully tested the passengers’ inclination to use their mobile phone as the new multitrip ticket. Using the Unwire Mobile Ticket platform as the foundation, the four transport companies tested the customers’ inclination to use their mobile as a multitrip ticket in July and August.

Text message parking system
From May this year, the residents of Västerås will be able to buy text message parking tickets. This system will be less expensive and offer more flexibility than the text message tickets offered by the present system. Consequently, the local authority is expecting the number of text message tickets sold to increase from approximately 60,000 to 120,000 a year.

At DFDS Canal Tours, mobile tickets will ease the long queues often meandering from the ticket windows in Nyhavn in Copenhagen. If you are in a long queue waiting to get onboard one of the tour boats touring the Copenhagen harbour, then look up. 1 January 2010, DFDS Canal Tours, who organise a large number of the harbour cruises, introduced mobile tickets as a quick and easy alternative to printed tickets.
