TDC launches new mobile portal

Denmark’s largest mobile portal, TDC Fly, has been launched in a new version and the customers got a top modern portal for the mobile internet with access to services like, TDC PLAY, TDC Mobil TV, news, mobile games and an explore function. The portal has been developed by Unwire and the initiative is an asset both regards number of users, customer loyalty and level of service for TDC.

During the spring of 2008, TDC introduced the mobile portal TDC Fly which is Denmark’s largest portal of its kind.
The portal serves as the subscribers’ front page to the mobile internet and through the portal the customer can always make short cuts to the most attractive services like TDC PLAY, sport, Google, news updates on TV and in writing, email access, ring tones and feeds.

”TDC has experienced increasing number of users after the introduction of Fly. At present, we have Denmark’s largest mobile portal and we are able to provide the customers with better experiences on the mobile internet. Among other, Fly uses the Java- script which improves the users’ experience on the phones which supports this. Furthermore, we can easily select content from our many good partners by using RSS and XML feeds which means that we can promote the most relevant content at any time”, TDC Product Group Manager Lars Knutsen says.

Quick delivery and easy optimisation

Fly is created based on some of Unwire’s standard platforms but is adjusted to TDCs special needs. This made the delivery fast with focus on custom making the solution so that TDC can update and edit the content easily:

”We are very impressed that Unwire during a very tight time schedule was able to deliver the portal five days ahead of schedule which among other things made timing optimal with regards to the launch of TDC PLAY perfect. Furthermore, it has become much easier to maintain and update TDC Fly as compared to previously. The system is very flexible and we are very satisfied”, Lars Knutsen says.

Cooperation and future perspectives

The content of TDC also applies to the cooperation with Unwire and their contribution to the future product development:

”TDC has had a very good cooperation with Unwire who has been proactive and solution oriented. TDC was looking for a partner who could make a solution close to the ordinary internet standards. It was important for us to follow these to make the cooperation and programming for our partners as easy as possible”, Lars Knutsen says and continues:

”Unwire and TDC deliver a product together which must be under development continuously. This has resulted in a cooperation which daily tests the business relation. The experience with Unwire tells us that we have found the right partner who proactively seeks to put TDC and TDCs products in the front seat on the mobile market”.
